Have no life? Yes, that would be me right now. Januaray can't get here soon enough!!! But I have been thinking about missionaries quite a bit the last week. I just finished reading my last letter of the week...now another week to go! One of these letters really touched me this week. He talked about teaching an old couple who have had some family trouble the last few weeks. He said before he was to meet with them he was sitting in his room looking at his tractor. (Why he took a tractor is beyond me haha) He said he looked at it and thought that there was no way he needed to take it. First the family wasn't even farmers. Then he ran into his room to grab it before they left for the appointment. He didn't know why but did it 'just in case.' Well during the lesson he pulled it out and talked about his analogy with enduring to the end...using the tractor. I guess the couple was really tahnkful and told him that it was just what they needed to hear.
"It was awesome for me to have followed the promptings of
the Holy Ghost to teach them what they needing in a way they could both
understand and relate too. You feel so much joy when you are obedient to those promptings."
Sometimes it is hard to determine what is the Spirit and what is 'you'. It always makes me think of D&C 8:2-3. "He will tell you in your mind and in your heart..." even if you don't know why. And how great it is to feel that joy when following those promptings!!!
